Sell and redeem service packages (prepaid session packs)

Create prepaid packages — e.g. a 5-pack massage — that members buy up front. One session is redeemed automatically each time you complete an appointment, instead of charging a card.

Prerequisites

  • • Feature: Appointments must be enabled in Settings → Features.
  • • Your studio must have completed Stripe Connect onboarding (Settings → Payments).
  • • At least one active appointment type (service) to attach the package to.

Create a package

Go to Appointments → Manage Packages → + New Package. Choose the service, optionally restrict it to one practitioner (leave as "Any practitioner" to let any practitioner who offers the service redeem it), set the number of sessions, the price, and an optional expiry (in days). Save.

Members buy it up front

A signed-in member purchases the package through Stripe Checkout. Payment goes to your connected Stripe account minus the standard platform fee — the same as passes and class/event payments. If they have a discount code scoped to Service bookings (or All), they can enter it in the "Discount code" field before checkout and it comes off the package price. Their balance appears under My Appointments → Your Packages with the sessions remaining.

Redeem on completion

When you complete a paid appointment for that service, the Bookings tab shows "Redeem from package (N left)" instead of a card charge. Click it to use one session — the appointment is marked Paid at $0 and the member's balance drops by one. Choose "Charge card" instead if you need to take a card payment (for example, a tip or add-on).

Tips
  • • Practitioner-restricted packages only redeem for that practitioner; "Any practitioner" packages redeem for any practitioner who offers the service.
  • • A session is never double-spent: each completed appointment consumes at most one session, even on retries.
  • • Editing a package definition (price, sessions, expiry) does not change balances members have already bought — those keep the terms they purchased under.
  • • Deactivating a package stops new purchases; existing balances stay usable until spent or expired.
  • • No card on file is needed to redeem a package — the money was collected when the package was bought.
