Create and manage appointment types

Define the 1-on-1 services clients can book — set the name, duration, price, and buffer time between sessions.

Prerequisites

  • Feature: Appointments must be enabled in Settings → Features.

Open Appointments

Click "Appointments" in the sidebar. The page has two tabs: Appointment Types and Bookings.

Click "+ Create New Type"

On the Appointment Types tab, click the button in the top right.

Fill in the details

Name (required): a short label clients see, e.g. "60-Minute Massage" or "Initial Consultation". Description (optional): what the session includes. Duration: choose 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 minutes. Price: enter a dollar amount, or leave at 0 for a free appointment. Buffer time: extra minutes added after the appointment before the next slot opens — useful for cleanup or prep time (options: none, 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes).

Save

Click Create. The type appears on the Appointment Types tab as an Active card. Instructors who have set availability for this studio can now be booked for this service.

Edit or deactivate

Click Edit on any type card to change its name, description, duration, price, buffer, or active status. Clicking Deactivate (or toggling Active off in the edit form) hides the type from the member booking flow without deleting it. Inactive types can be reactivated at any time.

Tips
  • Inactive types are shown in a separate "Inactive Types" section below the active list — they're never deleted, just hidden from clients.
  • Buffer time is added after the appointment end time, so if you set a 60-minute service with a 10-minute buffer, the slot blocks 70 minutes on the instructor's calendar.
  • Price at $0 (or empty) shows as "Free" to members at booking.
  • There is no limit on the number of appointment types — create one per service you offer.
