Show the tax that is in your prices (GST, VAT)

For studios whose prices already include GST or VAT: record the tax name, rate and registration number, and your monthly statement states the tax part of your sales.

ForOwner
1

Open Settings, then Money

Find "Tax on your prices". Only the owner sees it.

2

Tick "My prices include tax"

Choose the tax name, enter the rate, and add your registration number (your ABN in Australia, your VAT number in the UK and Europe). The example under the fields shows how a price splits at that rate.

3

From then on your monthly statement has an "Includes GST" (or VAT) line under the totals, on screen and in the CSV and PDF downloads.

Limits
  • • This does not add tax to anything. Your customers pay the prices you set, exactly as before. It only states how much of those prices is tax.
  • • It is for prices that already include tax. Adding tax on top of a price at checkout is not available.
  • • It is not offered to a studio that prices in US dollars.
  • • The statement line is worked out on your studio revenue that came through Stripe. Tips, gift card sales, and classes that instructors sell on their own Stripe accounts are left out.
  • • Customer receipts show the tax line, with your registration number, for passes and their renewals, memberships, and appointment packages. Receipts for events, appointments, gift cards and card charges do not show it yet.
  • • The figure is for your records. It is not a tax return and not tax advice; check it with your accountant.
