See which ads bring retreat and event bookings

Run Facebook or Instagram ads to a retreat and see visits, checkouts and paid bookings for each ad, plus cost per booking.

1

Get the ad link

Open the event (Events → the event). In the Ads section, click "Copy URL parameters for Meta ads". The Website URL is the link to the event itself ("Copy link" at the top of the same page). The Ads section sits at the top of the page once your Meta Pixel is connected or a booking has come from an ad, and below the bookings list until then.

2

Paste both into Meta Ads Manager

In your ad, put the event link in "Website URL" and paste the copied text into "URL parameters". Meta then fills in Facebook or Instagram, the campaign name and the ad name on every click, so nobody types them.

3

Read the report

Click "Full report" in the Ads section, or go to Analytics → Ads & sources. It shows visits, people who started checkout, paid bookings and booking value by source, and by campaign and ad.

4

Add what you spent

With one event picked, click "Add" next to Ad spend and enter the amount. The report then shows return on ad spend and what each booking from ads cost you.

Tips
  • • Only bookings with money received count as paid. Someone who opens checkout and leaves shows under "Started checkout", never under "Paid".
  • • Each booking is credited to the last ad or link the person came from within 30 days, even if they come back later by typing the address.
  • • Forgot the URL parameters? Clicks from Meta ads are still counted as "Meta ads", just without the Facebook/Instagram split and ad names.
  • • Every booking shows its source in the Source column of the event bookings list, and under "Came from" on the booking itself. Bookings you add by hand show "Added by staff".
  • • Visits are counted once per person per day. Your own previews of the page are not counted.
